Colleen DeRosa

Colleen DeRosa graduated in 2004 from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in English.

At the University of Iowa, she trained with Alan Sener, Charlotte Adams, Kevin Schroder, Armando Duarte, Jeffrey Bullock, Basil Thompson, and Linda Crist. She danced with the University's premiere touring performance troupe, Dancers In Company, performed in numerous Department of Dance concerts, and attained a well rounded liberal arts education with knowledge of choreography, dance history, pedagogy, and cultural studies in dance.

Originally from Palatine, Illinois, Colleen grew up dancing at Dancing Feet Dance Studio, trained with Melissa Thodos and Dancers and Northwestern University's Summer Institute, and took class with professionals wherever she could find them throughout the Chicagoland area. In addition to working with Nolte Academy's talented aspiring dancers, Colleen is the Marketing Director at the Englert Civic Theatre. When she is not teaching or marketing, Colleen is absorbed with Barak Obama's autobiography or whatever her book of choice may be at the time.
